Stray Threads and Sludge is show exhibiting textile and ceramic artworks, turning tradition on its head. Featuring seventeen artists, exhibiting works from ceramic films, to interactive textile works and multidisciplinary large sculptures.
Stray Threads and Sludge invites you to rethink your preconceived ideas about these traditional art forms and how ceramics and textiles are far more intertwined then thought before.

Lola Bennett is a final year Creative Arts Practice student at Bath Spa University who curated and proposed Stray threads and Sludge for the Fringe Arts Bath Festival 2023. Her practice is focused on the notion of craft and breaking hierarchies through crafting within art. She explores these themes through ceramics and textiles, and involves other disciplines. Lola’s work consists of large-scale installations such as a collection of multiple objects, while quilting places a central role in her work. Her background in fashion and crafts has led her to conduct multidisciplinary practices.
