Welcome to our Comfy Club car experience. Road stickers will lead you down the stairs into the space, where we present our Comfy car environment. Sometimes cars represent independence, sometimes it’s a just a safe space to talk; and other times not so much. The exhibition explores femme friendships and experiences in the context of cars, and our sentimental attachment to them; travel sickness, barbie remote control convertables and Jelly Belly air fresheners. This multimedia instillation explores the power of storytelling, nostalgia and joy through a play with various mediums and collaborative film.

Comfy as in comfort, rest and safety. A comfy club work feels like a sleepover. A 3am chat in a groovy chick sleeping bag. We explore themes of nostalgia, childhood and friendship through the lens of the contemporary female experience and friendships. The celebration of joyful moments are evident by our ‘comfy’ materials such as papier mache, sequins, clay, beads, photos and found objects. A love of art, a love of making, a love of pop culture and a love for each other are a crucial part of our collective thinking. Navigating the modern world and missing the simplicity of our childhood and the nuance of teenagerhood is an important motivation. In this new experimental show 'when I see two girls sitting in a car I think what he’s done', we explore our sentimental attachment to cars by offering our own comfy car installation through film, sculpture, paint and collage.
