Pedro Ramalho paints mainly in oils, using the techniques of 19th century classic realism learned in Italy and applying them to a contemporary, vibrant, colourful style.
An existentialism lover approaches Jean Paul Sartre's writings to an actual feeling of lost for his country and melancholic study of loneliness.
Born and raised in Portugal Pedro dreamed of becoming an artist from a very young age as he started painting under the guidance of both his father and grandfather. Pedro studied and embraced a career in Shoe Design, but social, economical and cultural circumstances proved that wasn't the path for him.
Torn by the feelings of a chaotic situation he decided to move to the UK where he later pursued a degree in Fine Arts followed by a Master Degree, both in the city of Bath where he resides today. Since then Pedro has never stopped producing and showing his work, he receives great appreciation locally where he has been honour artist to Guildhall exhibitions at the invitation of the mayor.
Pedro Ramalho has also been interviewed several times for magazines and newspapers, not only in UK but also in Portugal. At the moment he is co-organizer of the Bath Contemporary Art Fair.
