Housed in a barn in the heart of a thriving learning community, The Greenway Gallery hosts ‘Connection and Belonging’. The exhibition brings together a collection of works created to celebrate play in childhood and the power of nature connection as a way to future proof the planet, ensuring that future generations and nature may thrive.
The artists have been exploring their relationship to the world around them through the creation of artworks utilising the resource rich environment they inhabit. Sculptures are inspired by reclaimed and reimagined materials, expressions are made through movement and mark making. Rich in ideas and hopes for the future, the artists have nurtured relationships through both human and non-human encounters, finding their place in the world by being truly in it.
Works have been created in collaboration with 200 artists, the majority of whom are under 5 years old. The exhibition is a celebration of the creativity and vitality of these young artists, who move through the world with an openness and deep capacity to care for all that is around them.
Free Rangers Forest School and The Universal Farm seek to re-wild education alongside re-wilding 30 acres of farmland, to become a bio-diverse and sustainable landscape for learning, fully immersing all ages in nature, whilst living and learning in a way that holds the planet in mind.
Locally produced refreshments are available to purchase from a vintage citroen pop up bar on most days and the glorious greenway is right on the door step for a reflective walk after experiencing the exhibition.
