1930s Germany was marked by economic crisis, social chaos, political disintegration and the rise of the Nazi regime. Desanka Rowell's illustrated talk will examine the Nazi promotion of culture as propaganda and the reaction of artists to the circumstances of the time. The two exhibitions in 1937 Munich will be the focus of the talk.
