Riou-Djukic’s practice revolves around the notions of exposure, fragility and vulnerability of the human body and mind when confronted to society’s pressures and expectations.
Her work often includes elements of endurance or pain, as she aims to capture her audience’s attention through empathy, discomfort and fear. All her works are rooted in personal experience and develop around obstacles that she encounter as a woman in today’s (western) society, such as diet culture, eating disorders or body shaming.
