FAB Fringe Arts Bath call for interest 2011
FAB is Baths only visual arts festival and we are looking for new projects and new people for 2010/11! Our dates for next years festival are confirmed as May 27 to June 12 2011.
We actively promote and celebrate contemporary art in the Bath area and beyond, showcasing early career artists and curators, and those who find it difficult to break into (or prefer to operate outside of) the gallery based art scene. FAB often works with unusual, temporary exhibition spaces - anything from street corners, shops and shopping centres to front rooms and cafes. We are a not for profit organisation and receive minimal funding, relying on enthusiastic volunteers to stage the Visual Arts Fringe.
So for 2011 we are looking for....
There are several vacancies on the FAB committee, and opportunities for other volunteers to help on specific areas of activity. If you are an arts student or recent graduate, starting out on a creative career, or looking to move into the arts and cultural sector, this could be a great opportunity to learn or hone essential skills, make valuable contacts and make your ideas happen with the support of an experienced voluntary team.

Specific roles available:
- Press Officer
- Graphic designer
- Web designer / web2 whizzkid!
- Fundraiser
- Writers interested in critical arts journalism for press and publications
- FAB Curators (get your project on show )
Previous experience is not needed, though if you have some we will welcome you! The committee meets around once a month for most of the year and more often between March and May. The amount of time you give is flexible although some roles have a regular commitment involved.

FAB curator shows
Performance, intervention, installation, multi-media and video work through to photography, drawing, painting and sculpture (and all spaces in between).
FAB has opportunities for aspiring curators to devise and organise a show as part of FAB 2011. We can offer you admin support, practical advice and an exhibition space.
We are open to any suggestions!! it is a great chance to gain experience in this field and realize your own show or event.
Make new contacts and network locally and regionally! In past Fringes there have been exchanges between Manchester, Swansea and beyond initiated by FAB.
Anyone can apply with any level of experience - students, graduates and artists all welcome.

Artist Group and Collectives shows
Performance, intervention, installation, multi-media and video work through to photography, drawing, painting and sculpture (and all spaces in between).
We are taking submissions from artist groups who have work of a high standard that they wish to show.
Please provide us with a statement of no more than 500 words and examples of work (or past work if it's a new project)
