Telling Spaces - The Speaking Tube - Telephone of Hope?

Thinking about , looking for a possible site for, my own piece for the show I'm curating -Telling Spaces - 'The Telephone of Hope'. Based on the speaking tubes that was once used in all the large houses that are characteristic of Bath. Communicating with someone you can't see and may never know - what would you ask for?
